July Meeting Notes
Hello All,
I have a new computer and lost some of the e-mails I had such as Crys and Missy. If you notice I've missed a name, please let me know so that I can forward it on to everyone who is interested.
Lesley Atkinson and Whitney Langdon were there to report on the progress of the NB program. They both work with the foundation. Whitney helps with 3rd party fund raisers and Lesley works with large corporations. Lesley said that the program will consist of clinical research, a consortium with other institutions that engage in lab research thus Cooks patients to have more treatment options, a parents group and educational support. They expect to have a firm design and timeline in the next 60 to 90 days. They've currently hired 3 research interns and they will be doing 1 study on NB.
The Stucker family (Elizabeth's family) is helping to arrange a wine auction. We will have more info on that later.
The Sankry family would be grateful for the LOVE club to help with the walk they have next year.
This is all Lesley could tell us at present. Hopefully they will be more informed at our next meeting.
Mark said that the CNCF Parent Handbook is now available on line. It is a wealth of information for parents of children with NB. Check it out at http://www.nbhope.org/ look under "Resources".
We talked about moving our meeting times to the evenings so that more people can attend the meetings. I would appreciate your feedback on that question.
Brandi has some posters for the Rodeo. Remember to attend at 10am. If you've sold any raffle tickets, please bring them that day to Brandi so they will be entered in the drawing.
Heather also shared a sheet regarding A New Year of Hope Foundation. They have several committees with openings in the following areas: Events Committee, PR, Fundraising, Volunteer Recruitment
All committees will have one chairperson and will be asked to vilunteer for one-yr. terms. volunteers can stay on any particular committee for more than one term but are only allowed two consecutive hairperson terms every two years. For more information, please e-mail Heather at heather@anewyearofhope.org
Thanks,
Karen

Recipe Form
Please use the following form to submit recipes for Volume II of the Lunch for Life Cookbook. This year our cookbooks will be available in the beginning of September to commemorate the month as National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. We will be accepting recipes until August 1, 2008. You can copy and paste this form into Microsoft Word and then send it to the email below. Also, please attach a picture of your neuroblastoma warrior to the recipes that you are submitting so we are able to publish it in the cookbook alongside of each recipe.
Blessings,
The L.O.V.E. Club Families

July LOVE Lunch
We will have a LOVE Club lunch on Monday. We will meet at Mimi's Cafe on Bryant Irvin at 1:00. Please let me know if you will be able to join us so that I can have them get a big enough table for us. Whitney Langdon and Leslie Atkinson will join us for the meeting to give us more information about the NB Center at Cook. If you have not sent photos to Shannon Ford yet, please bring a disc with those on it so that we can get the pictures to her.
Thanks,
Karen
Thanks,
Karen
